Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before using the Ultifix platform. By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by the terms below.

Effective Date: 1 January 2026
Last Updated: June 2026
Jurisdiction: Republic of Ghana

1. Acceptance of Terms

Agreement to be bound by these terms

Welcome to Ultifix Ghana ("Ultifix", "we", "us", or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Ultifix digital platform, including our website, mobile application, and all associated services (collectively, the "Platform").

By creating an account, making a booking, submitting a quote, or otherwise accessing the Platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.

These Terms apply to all users of the Platform, including customers seeking services, craftsmen/artisans providing services, and any visitors to our website. Users under 18 years of age must have parental or guardian consent before using the Platform.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will notify registered users via SMS or email at least 7 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. About the Platform

What Ultifix is and how it operates

Ultifix is a digital marketplace that connects customers who need home repair, construction, and specialist services with verified, skilled craftsmen across Ghana. Ultifix acts as an intermediary platform — we facilitate connections and transactions but are not a party to the service contract between customers and craftsmen.

Important: Ultifix does not employ craftsmen. Craftsmen on the Platform are independent service providers. Ultifix is not responsible for the quality, safety, legality, or timeliness of any service performed, except as specifically stated in these Terms.

The service categories available on the Platform include, but are not limited to: Plumbing, Electrical, Carpentry, Masonry, Painting, Roofing, Appliance Repair, Metal Welding & Fabrication, Floor Polishing & Ceiling, Home & Office Renovation, and General Maintenance.

Ultifix currently operates primarily within Greater Accra Region, with active expansion into other regions of Ghana. Service availability may vary by location.

3. Account Registration

Creating and maintaining your account

To access most features of the Platform, you must register for an account. When registering, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
  • Maintain and update your information to keep it accurate and current
  • Keep your password and PIN secure and confidential
  • Notify Ultifix immediately of any unauthorised use of your account
  • Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account

You may only hold one account per phone number. Creating multiple accounts, or creating an account on behalf of another person without their consent, is prohibited. Ultifix reserves the right to verify your identity using your Ghana Card, Passport, or other accepted ID before granting full access.

Your phone number is your primary login identifier. Ensure the phone number on your account is a number you own and control, as it is used for authentication, MoMo payments, and critical notifications.

4. Customer Terms

Rules and responsibilities for customers

As a customer on the Ultifix Platform, you agree to:

  • Describe service requests accurately and honestly, including the nature and scope of work needed
  • Provide safe, lawful, and accessible job sites to visiting craftsmen
  • Be present or arrange authorised access during the agreed service window
  • Pay the agreed price in full upon completion of the service
  • Submit honest and fair reviews based on your actual experience
  • Not solicit or engage craftsmen for services outside the Platform to avoid Ultifix fees
Customers May
  • Post service requests in any supported category
  • Compare quotes from multiple craftsmen
  • Request rescheduling with reasonable notice
  • Raise disputes through the platform support system
  • Save favourite craftsmen to their profile
Customers Must Not
  • Provide false information in service requests
  • Attempt to negotiate off-platform payments
  • Harass, threaten, or discriminate against craftsmen
  • Submit fraudulent or retaliatory reviews
  • Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose

Customers with business accounts may access additional features such as bulk service requests, invoicing, and dedicated account management, subject to separate commercial terms.

5. Craftsman Terms

Rules and responsibilities for artisans on the Platform

Craftsmen joining the Ultifix Platform are independent service providers, not employees of Ultifix. You are responsible for your own tools, insurance, taxes, and compliance with all applicable Ghanaian laws and regulations governing your trade.

To be listed as an active craftsman on the Platform, you must successfully complete Ultifix's verification pipeline, which includes:

  • Identity verification using a valid Ghana Card, Passport, or Driver's Licence
  • Background check conducted or commissioned by Ultifix
  • Skill assessment relevant to your declared craft category
  • Agreement to Ultifix's Code of Conduct for Craftsmen
Maintaining Verified Status: Your verification is ongoing. Any change in circumstances that would have affected the original verification outcome — including criminal charges or change of business name — must be disclosed to Ultifix immediately.

Craftsmen agree to:

  • Accept only jobs within their genuine skill set and declared service categories
  • Arrive at agreed job sites on time and notify customers promptly of any delays
  • Conduct themselves professionally and respectfully at all times
  • Complete jobs to a satisfactory standard as described in the accepted quote
  • Not charge additional fees beyond the accepted quoted price without prior customer agreement
  • Allow Ultifix to verify job completion through the Platform before payouts are released

Craftsmen's earnings (less the platform fee) are released to their registered Mobile Money number after the customer confirms job completion. Ultifix applies a platform commission of up to 10% on each completed booking, deducted before payout.

6. Bookings & Service Requests

How the service request and booking lifecycle works

The Ultifix booking process follows these stages:

  • Service Request: A customer posts a service request describing the work needed, location, urgency, and optional budget range.
  • Matching & Quoting: Ultifix notifies verified craftsmen matched to the request by region and skill. Craftsmen submit quotes with a price, proposed date, and estimated duration.
  • Acceptance: The customer reviews quotes and accepts one. A Booking is then created and all other quotes are automatically declined.
  • Job Execution: The craftsman attends the job site and marks the job as started and subsequently complete on the Platform.
  • Confirmation & Payment: The customer confirms satisfactory completion, which triggers payment release to the craftsman.

Cancellations: Customers may cancel a service request before accepting a quote at no charge. Once a booking is confirmed, cancellations may be subject to a cancellation fee depending on the timing and circumstances. Craftsmen who cancel confirmed bookings without reasonable cause may receive a penalty on their account rating.

Disputes: If either party is unsatisfied with how a job was completed, they may raise a dispute through the Platform. Ultifix's Operations team will review the dispute and issue a resolution within 5 business days. Ultifix's decision on disputes is final, but does not preclude either party from seeking independent legal recourse under Ghanaian law.

7. Payments & Fees

How money flows on the Platform

Payments on the Ultifix Platform are processed through secure, Ghana-approved payment channels, including:

  • MTN Mobile Money (MoMo)
  • Vodafone Cash
  • AirtelTigo Money
  • Visa / Mastercard (where supported)
  • Cash on completion (for select service types and locations)
All prices on the Platform are quoted in Ghanaian Cedis (GHS). Ultifix does not currently support foreign currency transactions.

Platform Fee: Ultifix charges craftsmen a commission of up to 10% on each completed booking. This fee is automatically deducted from the agreed price before payout. The exact commission rate applicable to a booking is disclosed to the craftsman in their earnings dashboard.

Refunds: Customers may be eligible for a full or partial refund if: (a) a confirmed booking was cancelled by the craftsman; (b) a dispute is resolved in the customer's favour; or (c) a service was not rendered as agreed. Refund requests must be submitted within 7 days of the booking date via the Platform or support@ultifixonline.com.

Craftsman Payouts: Payouts are processed to the craftsman's registered MoMo number within 24–48 hours of the customer confirming job completion. Pending disputes will hold the associated payout until resolution.

8. Prohibited Conduct

What you must not do on or through the Platform

The following conduct is strictly prohibited on the Ultifix Platform. Violation may result in immediate account suspension or permanent banning:

  • Creating fake accounts, impersonating other users, or providing false identity information
  • Soliciting or facilitating off-platform transactions to circumvent Ultifix fees
  • Posting false, misleading, or fabricated service requests or reviews
  • Harassing, threatening, abusing, or discriminating against any user or Ultifix staff
  • Attempting to gain unauthorised access to the Platform, other accounts, or Ultifix systems
  • Using the Platform to promote or carry out illegal activities of any kind
  • Scraping, crawling, or extracting Platform data through automated means
  • Reselling or sublicensing access to the Platform without written permission from Ultifix
  • Posting content that is obscene, defamatory, hateful, or otherwise objectionable

Ultifix reserves the right to remove content, suspend accounts, or take other appropriate action — including referral to law enforcement — where prohibited conduct is identified.

9. Intellectual Property

Ownership of content and the Platform itself

All intellectual property rights in the Ultifix Platform — including but not limited to the software, design, logo, trademarks, and original content — are owned by or licensed to Ultifix Ghana. Nothing in these Terms transfers any IP rights to you.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Platform solely for its intended purposes. You must not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from any part of the Platform without our express written consent.

When you submit content to the Platform (including photos, reviews, portfolio images, or service descriptions), you grant Ultifix a royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, reproduce, and display that content for Platform operations and promotional purposes. You confirm that you own or have the right to share any content you submit.

10. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

The scope of Ultifix's legal responsibility

The Ultifix Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While we strive to maintain a high-quality, reliable service, we do not guarantee that the Platform will be error-free, uninterrupted, or available at all times.

Ultifix is a marketplace intermediary. We are not responsible for the quality, safety, legality, or outcome of any service performed by a craftsman. Customers engage craftsmen at their own risk, subject to the protections described in these Terms.

To the maximum extent permitted by Ghanaian law, Ultifix shall not be liable for:

  • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from use of the Platform
  • Loss or damage resulting from a craftsman's negligence or misconduct
  • Interruptions to service caused by factors outside our reasonable control
  • Unauthorised access to your account resulting from your own failure to secure your credentials

Our total aggregate liability to any user for any claim arising out of these Terms shall not exceed the total fees paid by that user to Ultifix in the 3 months preceding the claim.

11. Termination

How accounts can be closed or suspended

You may close your Ultifix account at any time by contacting our support team at support@ultifixonline.com or through the account settings in the Platform. Upon closure, your personal data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Ultifix reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account — immediately and without prior notice — where:

  • A user has violated these Terms or our Code of Conduct
  • We have reasonable grounds to suspect fraudulent, unlawful, or abusive behaviour
  • A craftsman's verification status has been revoked following investigation
  • Required by law or a court order

Terminated accounts may be appealed by contacting appeals@ultifixonline.com within 14 days of termination. Any outstanding payout owed to a terminated craftsman at the time of termination will be reviewed and settled at Ultifix's discretion, minus any amounts owed to affected customers.

12. Governing Law & Disputes

The legal framework for these Terms

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ghana.

Before pursuing formal legal proceedings, both parties agree to attempt in good faith to resolve any dispute through Ultifix's internal dispute resolution process. This process involves submitting the dispute through the Platform's support system and allowing Ultifix's Operations team up to 10 business days to issue a resolution.

Nothing in this clause prevents either party from seeking urgent injunctive or interim relief from a court of competent jurisdiction where necessary to protect their immediate legal rights.

Ultifix Ghana is registered and operates under the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Our registered address is: Kasoa, Central Region, Ghana.
